When to use a tripod?
Camera shake is often caused by unsteady hands and slow shutter speeds that results to blurred images. So then its quick to say to always use a tripod but that would be too impractical. One of the questions that’s been asked by new photographers is “Is that lens sharp?”, in reality all lenses are sharp with the help of today’s technology.

If you’re out in a sunny day its really unecessary bringing your tripod, unless its the magic hour when your shooting landscapes, using those ND filters or simply you want to be in the frame with a remote in your hand.
Tripods are a big help because it allows you to use slower shutter without blurring the image while increasing your depth of field. You dont have to bump your iso to 800 or more. These situations still depende on how much light there is.
The old rule was to use the shutter speed equal to or faster than the focal length. Camera shake will dictate you if you need to increase your shutter speed or slow it down to a stop.
Keep on shooting with and without a tripod and experience will teach you really when to use a tripod.
You hate carrying your tripod all day without having to use it and wished you left it at home.
