Preparing for a Photowalk
Preparing for a photowalk is not as easy as bringing your dslr and walking down the streets. If this is the case you’re missing out a lot of things. One must fully prepare the things needed for a photowalk.
Set a date and time.
A really good day to start a photowalk are Saturdays and Sundays since a lot of your fellow photographers are having their day off and you can prepare it a week before and have ample time to inform your photobuddies.
Equipment.
This is a photowalk so it is best that you pack light, you’re gonna wear down in the middle of the walk and realize it is such a hassle to bring a lot of unecessary stuffs. I would recommend just one camera body and a lens (50mm works great for me).
Know your group.
Knowing and introducing yourselves makes everyone comfortable and makes them feel they are in a group. It makes the photowalk much more enjoyable and not just taking photos. Maybe you can have a group photo too before moving along. You are there to have fun with the group.
Extra stuff.
This is an outdoor activity, make sure you bring these necessary details.
– a little cash
– personal ID
– water
– snacks
– comfortable clothing
Have fun.
I dont have to explain this, but the whole point of why you organize a photowalk is to enjoy other peoples company too, dont be too serious about your photo taking activity much more dont compete with your fellow photographers. Have fun.
